2010 NCLR National Latino Advocacy Days Issues Agenda

In his State of the Union address, President Obama highlighted jobs as the nation’s number one priority and acknowledged the importance of immigration reform.  To translate his words into concrete actions, it is critical that our community play an active role in engaging our elected officials and shaping the policy landscape.  NCLR Advocacy Days will provide an opportunity to advocate for job creation measures that will have a real impact on Latino communities, and to educate members of Congress that immigration reform is an investment that will support economic recovery for all Americans by enhancing tax revenue and economic growth and improving conditions in the workforce.

In addition to immigration reform and jobs, Advocacy Days participants will also have the opportunity to attend briefings and to advocate on health care reform, education issues, and the foreclosure crisis.
