2010 NCLR ANNUAL CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS TO ADDRESS IMMIGRATION, ECONOMY, EDUCATION, HOUSING, HEALTH CARE, AND MORE

Public Invited To Attend Free Events on Key Issues
Washington, DC—Arizona, the economy, green jobs, and education are just some of the topics that will be discussed in the nearly 60 workshops that are open to the public during the 2010 NCLR (National Council of La Raza) Annual Conference, set for July 10–13 in San Antonio, Texas at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.  The Conference will bring together experts, policymakers, and activists in these fields, as well as in health care, housing, community organizing, women’s issues, legislative policy issues, and other areas of priority for the Latino community.  The workshops are all free of charge.

The NCLR Annual Conference is the largest national gathering of its kind in the Latino community, serving as the meeting ground for community leaders, activists, and volunteers; elected and appointed officials; members of the corporate, philanthropic, and academic communities; senior citizens; college students; and youth.  Last year’s Conference in Chicago contributed millions of dollars to the city’s economy and attracted approximately 25,000 participants.
